Central Louisiana manufacturers already are partnering with CLTCC to produce more skilled workers, sending students to complete C4M and CDL programs, providing grant funds to purchase equipment for such programs or hiring employees and paying them full salaries while in school at CLTCC. They’ve partnered in training programs, donations, advisory roles and even a Manufacturing Expo for students.
Employer partners include AFCO Industries, Baker Manufacturing Inc., Boise Cascade, Cleco, Crest Industries, Dis-Tran, Eclectic Products, Gilchrist Construction, Hayes Manufacturing, Plastipak, Procter & Gamble, RoyOMartin, Union Tank Car Company, Weyerhaeuser, Bechtel, KBR and CB&I.
You can partner, too. Send your employees to customized training for two to five days to learn more on programmable logic controllers. Or become part of the classroom through an operator apprenticeship, where students spend two to three days a week in class at the school and the rest of the week on the job site.
